O EP “Live what I live”, lançado nas plataformas digitais em agosto de 2018, é o primeiro álbum em inglês da cantora e compositora Sara Bentes, e traz 5 faixas gravadas por ela originalmente em português. Com exceção da terceira faixa – Sailing, música de Júlio Ribeiro, todas as composições são de Sara, e as versões para o inglês levam a assinatura de Edgar Jacques, Leda Bentes e Marco Alexandre Oliveira. A faixa que abre o disco – Live what I live – e a última faixa – For what – foram lançadas originalmente como singles em português, “Viva o que eu vivo” e “Pra quê” respectivamente, enquanto as outras 3 canções fizeram parte do álbum “Invisível” – 2015. “Live what I live” tem arranjos de Sara Bentes e do pianista e produtor Luiz Otávio. “É um projeto antigo – conta Sara – amo cantar no meu idioma, mas também amo cantar em inglês, italiano, espanhol… já cantei em sueco e em japonês; amo simplesmente cantar, e experimentar a voz em outros idiomas, com outras ressonâncias e articulações, é libertador.” Sara, conhecida por muitas vezes levar a música popular brasileira para outros países, como E.U.A., Argentina, Itália, Suécia, Turquia e Tailândia, sentiu a necessidade de fazer suas letras serem compreendidas em qualquer país. “Sendo o inglês uma língua global, além de muito musical, eu me lancei este desafio, e selecionei 5 canções que me traduzem muito bem, dizem quem eu sou e a quê vim, reunem minha brasilidade com minhas influências musicais internacionais; com estas faixas convido as pessoas a mergulharem no meu mundo, a sentirem o que sinto, este é o conceito do disco” – conclui Sara.

Live what I live
The EP “Live what I live”, released on digital platforms in August 2018, is the first album in English of singer and songwriter Sara Bentes, and features 5 tracks recorded by her originally in Portuguese. With the exception of the third track – Sailing, music by Júlio Ribeiro, all compositions are by Sara, and the English versions are signed by Edgar Jacques, Leda Bentes and Marco Alexandre Oliveira. The track that opens the album – Live what I live – and the last track – For what – were originally released as singles in Portuguese as “Viva o que eu vivo” and “Pra quê” respectively, while the other 3 songs are part of the album “Invisível” – 2015. “Live what I live” has arrangements by Sara Bentes and by the pianist and producer Luiz Otávio. “It’s an old project – Sara says – I love singing in my language, but I also love singing in English, Italian, Spanish… I’ve already sung in Swedish and Japanese; I simply love to sing, and to experience my voice in other languages, with other resonances and articulations, it is liberating.” Sara, known by carrying Brazilian popular music to other countries, such as the US, Argentina, Italy, Sweden, Turkey and Thailand, felt the need to make their lyrics understood in any country. “Being English a global language, in addition to being very musical, I launched myself this challenge, and I choose 5 songs that represents me very well, who I am and why I’m here, showing my “Brazilianity” with my international musical influences; with these tracks I invite people to dive into my world, to feel what I feel, this is the concept of the album”- concludes Sara.
